Hariram V. (b. 1948) completed his D.F.A. in Painting from the Kalamdar School of Art, Bangalore in 1980; a Specialization in Printmaking from the Lalit Kala Akademi Graphic Studios, Chennai in 1990, and went on to receive a Specialization in Printmaking (non-toxic method) from New Grounds Print Shop, Albuquerque, New Mexico, U.S.A. His abstract artworks are rich with texture, layers and patterns that convey movement. His works have been shown in New York, Hong Kong, London, Japan, Spain, Romania, France, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Jaipur and Hyderabad.
Hariram has received the State Award from the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums, Bangalore (1997); Certificate of Merit in the 5th International Biennial Print Exhibition, Taiwan (1991); an award at the International Triennial in Romania (2003); and the State Award from the Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai (1995).
Hariram’s works are a part of several collections at galleries including the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi and National Museum & Monuments in Botswana.
